Restaurant Review - The Sauce House
By Mike Waid

Recently I was working away on a Friday when several friends came into the office to take me to lunch. I really enjoy eating out, especially with good friends, so I took them up on their offer. We spent the next few minutes trying to decide where to go. I had remembered seeing a new place open in Stroh Ranch so we agreed to give them a shot.

The Sauce House is a new Italian restaurant and pizza shop that recently opened in the King Soopers shopping center at Parker Road and Stroh Road. All three of us love Italian food and pizza so we were very excited to try them out. We happened to be the first customers of the day as they had just opened for lunch.

We were all looking forward to a good lunch at a locally owned restaurant and were not disappointed when our food arrived. We started off the meal with an order of their "saucybread". These oven fresh breadsticks are topped with mozzarella cheese and come with dipping sauce. Be aware that the "bold" sauce has a bit of a kick to it and is full of great flavor.

Two of us decided to share a pizza and ordered a "Butcher Boy". This 14" thin crust pizza was loaded with pepperoni, sausage, ham and meatballs. We quickly made short work of this anti-vegetarian pizza and were impressed with it. My other friend ordered a meatball sub which didn’t last long. The three of us are quite the "meat" connoisseurs and were very pleased with what the Sauce House was offering.

I’ve always found the best part of a lunch with friends is the conversation. When you eat at a restaurant that isn’t very good the topic of conversation seems to be about the bad food. However, when you eat at a restaurant with food as good as The Sauce House you usually discuss the great things going on with your friends. All in all, we had a great meal and enjoyed our visit to one of Parker’s newest restaurants.

The Sauce House is conveniently located at 13097 South Parker Road in the King Soopers Shopping Center. They are open for lunch and dinner every day and even deliver. They also offer daytime children’s birthday parties and have entertainment for the kids on Sundays between 4 and 7. For more information they can be reached at 303-841-4366.
