Gary Sinise Comes To Town
By Robert Toth
Robert Toth, owner of IRIS Fire Investigations planted an idea
for a small golf tournament to market to their client base. What Veronica, his
director of business development, did next was beyond anyone’s wildest
expectations.
Veronica, who had never put together a golf tournament, went
about researching the prospect and posed the following idea to the owner. Not
wanting the IRIS golf tournament to look like every other, and get lost amongst
the sea of golf tournament choices, she proposed a tournament to raise money for
a worthy cause. Given the approval, she went forward to find a worthy cause to
champion.
From here, one must back up three years ago to a series of life
events that had a direct influence on the project Veronica was placed in charge
of. Back in 2009, Robert and Veronica had an opportunity to visit the set, and
meet the cast and crew of "CSI: NY". There they met academy-award
nominated Gary Sinise, and a number of his friends. Gary was nominated for his
role as Lt. Dan, in Forrest Gump, and currently stars on the CBS Show "CSI:
NY". Through the years they have stayed in touch and have become familiar
with the humanitarian efforts and support Gary Sinise generates through his
foundation (The Gary Sinise Foundation) for our military, their families, and
our Nation’s first-responders. It was this singular encounter, which set the
stage for the event coming to Parker, Colorado May 20th and 21st.
The "small golf tournament" has now become a 2-day
charity fundraising event for the Gary Sinise Foundation, and for the community
to show their support for our military, their families, and Nation’s
first-responders. On May 20th, Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will be playing
a concert on the grounds of Colorado Golf Club. This family-friendly concert
features Gary Sinise on bass, and a host of other very talented musicians. As
part of the festivities, the golf course chef will be preparing a cookout for
the concert attendees, and a silent auction will also be available.
On May 21st, the following day, Gary Sinise is staying over to
attend the golf tournament at the Colorado Golf Club, and to meet and greet the
golfers and supporters of his foundation. In addition to the great golf, the
registration fees include a ticket to the concert, exclusive access to the club,
lunch, a fore caddie for your group to help you navigate the course, dinner, and
beverages. The golf tournament will open with the singing of the National Anthem
by Jake Shroeder, and conclude with the dinner and silent auction. A list of
local celebrities is growing. They are adding their name and time to support the
foundation as well. Opportunities to bid on having a celebrity in your foursome
will be available. For more information on how you can participate, donate,
contribute, or sponsor any portion of the events, contact Veronica at IRIS Fire
Investigations at (303) 840-4705, or visit our website at www.irisfire.com
