A Thrill of Hope

Downtown Parker comes alive during the holiday season. The lights, music, and events have made our town rich in the spirit of the season. Starting in early October, over 75,000 lights are strung at O’Brien Park, the Old Schoolhouse, Ruth Chapel, Mainstreet, Pikes Peak Drive, Town Hall, PACE Center, and Discovery Park. There are well over 100 of the “snowflake” lights that hang from the cottonwood trees at O’Brien Park alone. To help you not miss out on any of the festivities this year, we take a look at the events our Town puts on each year. More information can be found at parkeronline.org.

CREATE HOLIDAY MEMORIES IN DOWNTOWN PARKER Usher in the holidays enjoying a kick-off weekend of activities and accents to downtown Parker. Take a leisurely stroll from O’Brien to Discovery Park and grab a selfie or a family picture by the Town tree, park lights at Discovery Park, or at one of the fun holiday décor attractions along the way! While you stroll through downtown, enjoy the pre-recorded holiday music playing through speakers and accents to our beautiful Downtown Parker. Activities will be spread throughout the weekend, both day and evenings. From ice sculpture carvings along Mainstreet to activities with Santa’s elf, a toy soldier, a real live holiday tree, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and food vendors in O’Brien Park, all are magic.

SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS THROUGH DEC. 19 Downtown Parker will come alive for the 2021 holiday season! Visit Candy Cane Lane at Discovery Park, Toyland on Mainstreet and Santa's Workshop at O'Brien Park for a fun family selfie - it might even be a great addition to your holiday cards! The Town has also invited our holiday walk-around characters from Thanksgiving weekend to stick around on Saturdays and Sundays (from noon to 4 p.m.) through Dec. 19.

WHERE IN DOWNTOWN PARKER IS THE XFINITY ELF? In addition to the festive holiday lights and décor, the Town invites you to an Elf Around Town Scavenger Hunt! This holiday season, on Saturdays and Sundays leading up to Christmas (Nov. 27 through Dec. 19), the Town of Parker and Xfinity invite you and your family to find one of Santa’s real live elves around downtown Parker. If you see the Xfinity Elf around town, take a picture of him and post the picture on the Town’s Facebook page, sharing where around town you saw him. All entries will be entered into a prize drawing!

PORCH PARADE SERIES; WINTER HOLIDAYS The community is invited to celebrate with the Town of Parker by decorating your front porches, yards, patios or balconies! Unleash your creativity, bring some holiday joy to your friends and neighbors, and have a chance at winning prizes. The Town of Parker will produce a virtual map with the locations of all our registered porches, so you can plan a walk or drive around your neighborhood and the community to see and share in the celebration.
